Hey all,
It has been an absolutely crazy week for me. First off, my fiancee Kim and I closed on our first house together, followed quickly by the move and dozens of boxes to unpack. It's been a bit chaotic, to say the least, but great nonetheless! It certainly is a good time to be a new homeowner, and after being in the house for over a week now, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
More on my experiences in the new neighborhood in a bit...
Second, the last two webisodes of the Football Documentary that I was a part of have been posted online. After a small delay with no postings, the producers put the last 2 episodes up within a few weeks of each other. To watch both would take you about 25 minutes or so (Ep 4 is about 10 min long, while Ep 5 is 15), but it is well worth it. There are a bunch of incredibly inspirational stories, and the series is getting amazing reviews from its online viewers. Here's what one guy said:
"I just saw the 5th episode--I want to congratulate the players, coaches, and communities of both teams. You all have embraced the challenge and have earned the respect of the nation. Your tenacity is inspiring. Thank you for being fantastic ambassadors for the sport of Football. And thank you Gatorade for allowing these men to play like boys one last time." -Triplecrunch-

A quick recap:
Episode 4 - Features a journey that I am very proud to say that I was a part of, in helping my best friend since 6th grade train and prepare to play in the game. After a long battle with Cancer, playing in this game served as a huge triumph for him during this incredibly difficult time in his life. You'll also see the 2 teams practicing at the Philadelphia Eagles practice facility (guided by Coach Andy Reid and Pro-Bowl RB Brian Westbrook!), and a bunch of other leadup events to gameday.
Episode 5 - GAMEDAY! Clips and highlights from the game on April 26th, played in 100+ degree heat! See recap quotes and clips from the players, coaches, and fans, as well as Coaches Peyton and Eli Manning! As I have written before, my Easton squad didn't come out on top, but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything in the world. It truly was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Now for my new neighborhood experience. Of course you know, I like to infiltrate local playgrounds from time to time to get a change of scenery for my workouts. It just so happens that I have a small church playground right in my backyard, with a pretty significant hill right next to it on which to run some sprints. These are tools I can definitely work with! I thought I would give you guys my workout from this past weekend, at my new digs..
PERFORM THESE EXERCISES AS A 4-STATION CIRCUIT, WITH 3 MINUTES REST IN BETWEEN ROUNDS. PERFORM 3 ROUNDS, FOR A CRUSHING 40 MINUTE WORKOUT!
- 6 Squat Jumps followed immediately by a 15 second uphill sprint (need about a 40yard hill or so)
- 60 seconds rest (this is about the time it takes to walk down hill to starting point)
- Repeat 4 more times, for a total of 5 sprints
- 12 Core Pullups (regular pullups, but with knees flexed up toward your chest)
- 12 Plyo Pushups (explosive pushup, separate your hands from the ground at the top)
- 12 Flexed Arm Hanging Leg Raises (Hang from bar with elbows at 90 degrees, then drive knees to your chest without swinging
I guarantee you'll sweat through your whole T-shirt on this one. It's a killer, you will burn A TON of calories, and you're sure to be done and showered in about an hour!
Yours in Strength,
Jesse
